Malta — 28 June 2026 — The Next Generation: A Showcase of Emerging Classical Talents took place at Bacchus Restaurant, bringing together live classical performance, young operatic voices, visual art, cultural guests, and an elegant audience for a memorable evening in Malta.
The concert presented six emerging classical vocal talents — Michael Vella Gatt, Kelsey Carabott, Gabriel Magro, Nicholas Perry, Hannah Attard, and Maxine Marie Gilson — accompanied by pianist Julia Miller.
The evening was created to bring opera and classical music closer to a wider audience, especially younger listeners and new opera lovers, through an intimate and accessible concert setting. Held inside the historic atmosphere of Bacchus Restaurant, the event offered guests a warm and refined way to experience classical music outside a traditional theatre environment.
The programme featured a diverse selection of operatic arias, art songs, musical theatre pieces, and ensemble performances.
The concert was created in collaboration with Bacchus Restaurant, Celebrity Events, and Woman Star World. Bacchus Restaurant hosted the evening in its historic venue, Celebrity Events supported the event presentation and guest experience, and Woman Star World contributed media visibility, storytelling, interviews, and post-event coverage.
The evening also featured selected works by Lana Bowden from the continuation of her exhibition “Holm”, meaning “dream” in Maltese. Her watercolor, acrylic, and ink artworks brought an additional visual art element to the concert. Guests had the opportunity to view and purchase selected pieces, with 10% of proceeds from artwork sales supporting the concert organisers, who sponsored the initiative and helped create a professional stage for the young performers.
The event welcomed classical music lovers, cultural supporters, members of Malta’s international community, and guests interested in discovering young talent in a more personal and accessible setting.
The Next Generation stands as a celebration of young artistic voices, cultural collaboration, and the future of classical performance in Malta.
