For the first time in history, the reigning Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, visited Malta as part of her official World Tour. Arriving from Copenhagen on May 14 and staying until May 17, 2025, her visit aimed to promote Malta and Gozo to a vast international audience through the Miss Universe platform, which boasts over 14 million Facebook and 6.5 million Instagram followers.

During her stay, Victoria explored iconic Maltese sites, including Valletta’s Castille, St. John’s Co-Cathedral, the Saluting Battery, and the Grand Master’s Palace. She also toured Mdina and Gozo through a guided UTV experience. This promotional effort was backed by Visit Malta.

Victoria’s visit also commemorated the 10th anniversary of Miss Universe Malta under the leadership of Alan J. Darmanin. Malta was the third European country Victoria visited during her reign, following stops in several countries including Japan, India, and the United States.

Crowned Miss Universe in Mexico in November 2024, Victoria emerged victorious from a field of 128 contestants. Malta’s representative at the pageant was Beatrice Njoya, the current Miss Universe Malta, who will pass on her crown this July.

This landmark visit not only highlighted Malta’s rich cultural heritage but also strengthened its presence on the global stage through the Miss Universe platform.
