Yet I never imagined that at 52 a completely new plot twist would appear — a beauty pageant stage in Greece, a sash across my shoulder, and the title of Mrs. European Continent Classique 2025 crowned by People’s Choice.

Sometimes life changes not with a grand decision, but with a soft yes — the kind you whisper to yourself when no one is listening. My journey from Mrs. Malta Classique 2025 to Mrs. European Nations Classique 2025 in Athens began exactly like that: quietly with curiosity holding my hand.

When the invitation arrived to join the Mrs. Globe platform and represent Austria as Mrs. Austria Globe, my reaction was very simple: I thought about it. A lot.

Today, I am a mix no one can replicate: fashion designer, master tailor, product developer, graphic designer, social media creator, web designer, brand architect. Once underestimated, now celebrated. I see what others cannot—the story behind a client, the story behind a person. From these stories, I create brands that make you feel before they speak.

Beauty for me is the ability to feel everything: to love deeply, to cry without shame, to rebuild after a fall, to keep dreaming.

I’m an actress, presenter, and digital creator, and none of these roles compete for my attention. They all come from the same place inside me, which is storytelling. Acting teaches me depth and presence. Presenting sharpens connection and timing. Digital creation gives me freedom. When one world feels heavy, I move into another and it recharges me. That’s how I stay creative, alive, and awake.

I was born in former Yugoslavia, in Bosnia, just before a time of unrest reshaped everything around us. My parents chose courage over comfort and moved to Austria with nothing guaranteed, only a quiet belief that life could be kinder for their children. They started again from zero and, step by step, brought my sister and me to join them.

Times of change always bring a test — and a chance... Our beauty lies in the harmony of differences, in the way we carry our heritage into the future...

And yet, beneath all that vulnerability, something in me refused to let go. Before I even had words, I made a choice. I stayed.

My story didn't start on a stage filled with lights and applause. It began in a clinic, in rooms filled with quiet hope and quiet heartbreak. There were days when I felt invisible, trapped between faith and disappointment.

I live a very public life, but the truest part of my day starts long before the cameras turn on. I wake up at five every morning. I like my home calm and in order, so I never leave the house with the bed unmade or things out of place. That first hour is my quiet ritual. When I have time, I run a long bath and let my thoughts settle there before the rush begins. These small habits taught me that when my space is calm, my mind walks into the day already steady.

My name is Marina Shlykova — doctor, wife, and proud mother of five sons. Our home is filled with laughter and the gentle chaos of a big, happy family. Among all these men, I often say I live like a princess in my own kingdom.

Every crown carries a story, mine began not under the spotlight, but in silence. Long before the stage and the applause, there was a woman piecing herself back together after surviving abuse. I learned to stand again, to believe that my scars could one day shine brighter than any jewel. That moment when I rose from the darkest chapter of my life was when I knew I wanted to represent women across the world.

Every woman is like a diamond, with her facets—the many sides of herself—creating her brilliance. We are not mono-creatures; we are multidimensional. Understanding this allows us to live in self-authenticity, one of the highest emotional states. One of my favorite mantras is: "A Feminine Boss is a woman who can be both 100% brilliant and 100% under construction at the same time.

Photography has always been more than pictures to me — it’s emotion, story, and atmosphere captured in a single frame. I picked up my first camera as an eighteen-year-old living in Malta, and from the very beginning I felt that light was something I could shape, almost like paint on a canvas. That instinct became my path, and years later it has grown into both my art and my profession.

For some, beauty is seen as a gift. For me, it was a magnet I never asked for — one that attracted danger before I even understood what it meant to protect myself.

Some people grow in silence. I chose a crown, a spotlight, and a room full of women I’ve never met.

I’ve built a life that doesn’t fit in a box. People often think I can’t sit still. Truth is, I absolutely can—still in body, still in mind. That quiet discipline comes from 30 years of yoga, a practice that has taught me how to reset, reflect, and restore. Stillness, for me, is as vital as movement. One doesn’t work without the other.

I was fifteen when my dad — my hero, my safe place — died suddenly of a heart attack. Just like that, my world collapsed. Childhood ended in an instant, and I was left with a gaping void I didn’t know how to fill. There was no preparation, no closure — just the silence he left behind. I stepped away from the boardroom silhouette and into something lighter, softer. The garments I wore danced with the breeze, almost as if my skin had something new to say. What showed up on camera wasn’t a pose—it was permission. Permission to feel strong without needing to look sharp.

Preparing a queen isn’t just about finding the right gown — it’s about helping her feel ready to shine in it. The team stays involved from first fitting to final stage moment, offering both expert styling and genuine support. They know that the right dress makes a statement, but it’s the woman wearing it who brings that moment to life.

I began modeling at a very young age, chasing dreams across runways and borders. Over the years, I earned international titles and recognitions, and—most importantly—I contributed to humanitarian efforts in places like India through the global campaign We for WE, raising awareness about the tragic impact of sex-selective abortions.

The FULL BLOOM exhibition draws its inspiration from the deep connection between flowers and the feminine experience. Each artwork symbolizes the grace, beauty, and strength inherent in womanhood, reflecting how women, like flowers, blossom beautifully through life’s challenges.

I decided to participate in Mrs. Malta 2022 because it offered a unique chance to blend my personal goals with my passion for empowering women and promoting Malta. Having lived in Malta for over seven years, I felt a deep connection to this beautiful country and its people.

WOMANIFEST is a vision turned reality. At the end of 2023, during a meditation, I saw hundreds of shining eyes looking at me — women filled with inspiration, connection, and purpose. That vision wouldn’t leave me.
