When it comes to dressing Malta’s representatives for the international stage, Raja&Co has earned its place as a trusted name. Preparing a queen isn’t just about finding the right gown — it’s about helping her feel ready to shine in it. The team stays involved from first fitting to final stage moment, offering both expert styling and genuine support. They know that the right dress makes a statement, but it’s the woman wearing it who brings that moment to life.
Jeff, you’ve seen hundreds of girls walk into a fitting room—and thousands walk across a stage. What separates a woman who simply wears the gown from the one who owns the room in it?
That’s true—I’ve seen thousands. And in my experience, the difference is in how they carry it. Grace and attitude are key. When someone trusts the process and takes my advice, it makes a real impact. A statement gown helps, of course, but it’s how she walks in it that makes the room pause.
Jacqueline, you’ve worked alongside your son through it all. What’s been the most special part about building this business together as mother and son?
Honestly, our bond has grown stronger through it. We’ve learned to communicate better—even in the funny moments when we’re saying the same thing but not quite understanding each other. It’s a shared rhythm now.
Jeff, you’ve become a go-to name for women aiming to represent Malta at beauty pageants. Do you feel a responsibility when dressing someone who’s chasing her dream on an international stage?
Absolutely—100%.I feel a strong responsibility. I stay in touch with each contestant and stay excited right up to seeing her on the final stage. I always encourage them to go the extra mile—especially when it comes to that final gown.
Jacqueline, behind every great dress is someone who zipped it up and whispered, ‘You’ve got this.’ Do you feel like you’re part of each woman’s story in a quiet but powerful way?
Yes—definitely. Most of our clients ask for my opinion, and I always speak from the heart. Since day one, our motto has been: we’re not here just to sell a dress—we’re here to help a woman feel good in her skin. That’s always been our priority.
Jeff, what’s the biggest myth people have about the pageant world, and what’s the truth behind it?
There used to be this idea that pageants were superficial or a waste of time. Over the years, that has started to change—thanks to the queens themselves and the dedication they bring. People now realise that pageants offer growth, confidence, and opportunities beyond what they expected.
Jacqueline, what makes you instantly know a dress is the dress for someone? Is it instinct, experience, or something in her posture when she puts it on?
It’s a mix of instinct and experience. You can tell when a dress doesn’t align with who she is. We’re honest about it—and that trust is why so many leave the choice in our hands.
Jeff, Raja&Co has dressed many queens—but let’s talk about the crown behind the curtain. How much of your work is really about fashion, and how much is about confidence, psychology, and presence?
I’d say it’s 50/50. You can have the perfect dress, but if she lacks presence or self-belief, it won’t matter. On the other hand, confidence without any sense of style doesn’t go far either. It’s all about balance. Mindset, attitude, and personal presence are everything in this industry.
Jacqueline, at Woman Star World, we celebrate women living their full potential. What does that phrase mean to you—and how has working with such women shaped how you see strength and success?
We see all kinds of women—different ages, characters, and stories. And many open up about their lives. It’s meaningful. Some come at 10am and stay until closing time at 1pm. It’s more than a dress—it becomes a connection, a moment of support, and a reminder that we really are stronger together.
